Tokyo Tower

It is said that Tokyo Tower is modeled after the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Let's compare their differences.

📃Purpose

🇯🇵Tokyo Tower: Constructed as a symbol of Japan's recovery and primarily built to serve as a radio tower for television broadcasting. It is a symbolic building of Tokyo's development as a modern city.

🇫🇷Eiffel Tower: Built for the 1889 Paris Exposition. It was a symbol of modern architectural technology at the time and a landmark to showcase France's technological prowess.

⚙️Structure

🇯🇵Tokyo Tower: Made of steel, with a stronger structure to withstand Japan's harsh climate and earthquakes.

🇫🇷Eiffel Tower: Made of iron, with a spatial structure that gives a graceful impression. A lattice design is used for weight reduction and durability.

🎊Opening

🇯🇵Tokyo Tower: 1958

🇫🇷Eiffel Tower: 1889

🏗️Height

🇯🇵Tokyo Tower: 333m

🇫🇷Eiffel Tower: 330m
